Remo is a 57-year-old man who grew up with a passion for cars and motorcycles passed down from his father, Luciano.
On July 23, 1998, a motorcycle ride like many others forever changed his path: a distracted driver crashed into him.
The following 8 years are marked by amputations and fractures, but despite it all, he gets back on his feet and obtains his BS and AS licenses. Finally, motorcycles become a reality.
But life proves unpredictable once again and throws him another curveball, leading him into a world of alcohol and drugs, distancing him from his beloved two wheels.
Yet Remo doesn’t give up, he doesn’t surrender. He joins a community, finds his way out, and in 2020, he meets Fabio, known as “Cici,” who tells him about Di.Di.
He meets Emiliano Malagoli, attends a safe driving course, regains his license, and on a Thursday in 2022, finds himself at Magione for free practice sessions. Instead of returning home the same evening, he stays for the weekend and directly participates in the first stage of the OCTO CUP, the Italian Paralympic motorcycle championship.
Additionally, Remo has decided to physically prepare for the championship by participating in the “Pedala e Vai” project, a Trapani-Trieste initiative where 12 cyclists on 6 tandems travel across Italy to transform their challenges into opportunities for inclusion and participation.
It’s a rehabilitative format where guides and athletes work together to find the right synergies and balances to achieve common goals.
Go, Remo, we’re all with you!
