Riding Courses

Safe driving courses on the track

Do you have a disability and a passion for two wheels?
Our motorcycle riding courses are just for you!

Learn to safely handle a motorcycle in all situations while enjoying the thrill of riding on the track. This is the goal of our recognized track/paddock safe riding courses accredited by the Italian Motorcycling Federation, designed for all disabled motorcycle enthusiasts, from beginners to experts.

The Di.Di. Driving School provides adapted motorcycles for every type of disability (lower limbs, upper limbs, or paraplegia) and full technical gear (suit, gloves, boots, helmet, and back protector). You can choose between a full-day motorcycle riding course or a half-day pit-bike course.

Our staff includes federal instructors and technicians, some of whom have the same disability as the students, offering valuable guidance on riding with specific physical conditions.

Motorcycle Riding Course

The course lasts a full day (from approximately 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM).

Students are divided based on their disability and declared riding level in the pre-registration form: lower limb or upper limb. They will be assigned to instructors who have similar challenges to ensure the best guidance with the right empathy.

The first step is a slalom course within the paddock, a crucial phase to learn the basics of motorcycle handling and to practice with adaptations.

Subsequently, based on their abilities and as directed by the staff, students will proceed to the track with instructors by their side.

During the course, students will alternate between theoretical lessons and riding sessions: briefings with their instructor followed by practice on the track.

The main topics covered include: technical gear, vehicle care, riding position, adaptations, riding with a disability, braking, acceleration, cornering, and sequences of corners, racing lines, and braking points.

Upon completion of the course, a participation certificate will be issued.

The course is mandatory for those wishing to participate in any of the Italian races organized by Di.Di. Diversamente Disabili Onlus, especially for those who have not raced with us before or lack proven racing experience. At the end of the day, the instructor staff will decide whether to approve participation in Di.Di. races or if further evaluation is necessary.

Di.Di. Driving School Vehicle Fleet

The driving school is equipped with the following adapted vehicles:

  • 2 Honda NC 700/750 automatics designed for paraplegia, immobility of the left arm, and lower limb disabilities. These motorcycles feature a rear-wheel system that can be raised/lowered.
  • 1 Aprilia Mana with automatic transmission, front brake, and throttle on the left side, suitable for immobility of the right arm.
  • 1 Aprilia Mana with the automatic or sequential transmission, button-operated, for immobility of the left leg and/orleft arm.
  • 1 BMW F800R with button-operated gear shifter, thumb-operated rear brake (for lower limb issues); servo-assisted braking, and light controls on the right side of the handlebar for those with upper left limb problems.
  • 1 BMW 300 without adaptations.
  • 1 BMW 300 with button-operated gear shifter and thumb-operated rear brake (for lower limb issues).

Due to limited availability, motorcycles will be “reserved” based on requests received upon payment of the course registration fee.

Each adapted motorcycle will be rented to a maximum of 2 students who will take turns riding.

Students renting a motorcycle will be required to provide a security deposit of €1,000 as partial or full coverage for any damages caused to the motorcycle during the rental period. The security deposit will be returned at the end of the day unless damages are identified.

Pit-Bike Riding Course

For those who are beginners or prefer an intermediate step before moving to motorcycles, including children and teenagers, we guarantee the thrill of two wheels in complete safety with our YCF PIT-BIKES!

The course spans half a day (from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM) and includes theory and practical sessions in a dedicated area within the paddock. Here, students will become familiar with throttle control, brakes, gears, and key principles of riding on two wheels.

For this course as well, adapted pit bikes are available for rental according to individual disabilities, along with full technical gear.
