AS Licenses
AS Licenses
The special license (Patente AS) is subject to a fitness certificate issued following a visit to a specific Local Medical Commission. It is intended for individuals with anatomical, functional, or sensory impairments, allowing them to drive vehicles that have been appropriately modified based on their conditions (or vehicles that inherently do not require specific adaptations).
In 2014, in collaboration with Marcello Aranci, President of the Provincial Road Safety Board of Rome, and the Motorization Office of Rome, we launched the “Progetto Patenti AS” (AS License Project) to facilitate the reintegration of disabled individuals into society through the acquisition of the special motorcycle license (AS license).
Our project offers the opportunity to obtain the AS license through our facility, guiding you step-by-step through the entire process:
From the medical commission visit
The specific codes on the certificate based on the disability
To exam scheduling and pass the practical exam using our multi-adapted and approved motorcycles
To purchase and modify your own motorcycle with approved adaptations.
To date, we have enabled over 100 individuals to obtain the AS license!
Furthermore, thanks to our collaboration with Handytech, a specialized workshop in adapting vehicles for people with disabilities with over 70 authorized centers throughout Italy, anyone who obtains the AS license with us or is a member of the Onlus (Non-profit Organization), upon presentation of our valid membership card for the calendar year, will receive a discount on the list price of each adaptation.
The driving school is equipped with the following approved adapted vehicles:
- 1 Aprilia Mana with the automatic or sequential transmission, front brake and throttle on the left side, suitable for immobility of the right arm.
- 1 Aprilia Mana with the automatic or sequential transmission, button-operated, for immobility of the left leg and/or left arm.
- 1 BMW F800R with button-operated gear shifter, thumb-operated rear brake (for lower limb issues); servo-assisted braking, and light controls on the right side of the handlebar for those with upper left limb problems.
- 1 BMW 300 with button-operated gear shifter and thumb-operated rear brake (for lower limb issues).
